Kunker sale 264, lot 3616
This specimen was lot 3616 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €7,500 (about US$9,689 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG, KURFÜRSTENTUM Friedrich III. 1688-1701. 2 Dukaten 1700, LCS, Berlin. Kopf r. darunter die Signatur R· F· (Raimund Faltz, Medailleur in Berlin 1688-1703)//Vier gekrönte Monogramme ins Kreuz gestellt, in der Mitte Zepterschild, oben die geteilte Jahreszahl 17 - 00, unten Signatur L C - S * (Lorenz Christoph Schneider, Münzmeister in Berlin 1682-1701). GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Kl. Kratzer auf der Vorderseite, sehr schön + . (Electorate of Brandenburg, Frederick III, 1688-1701, double ducat of 1700, Berlin mint. Obverse: Head right, engraver's initials below; reverse: four crowned monograms, electoral arms in center, date and mintmaster's initials above. Very rare, scratches on obverse, very fine or better.)"

Recorded mintage: unknown but few.
