Kunker sale 293, lot 276
This specimen was lot 276 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €160 (about US$216 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG IN FRANKEN. Christian Friedrich Karl Alexander, 1757-1791. Konv.-Taler 1766, Schwabach. Mit dem Herzogstitel von Preußen und Schlesien. Slg. Grüber (Auktion Künker 267) 4650. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach, Christian Frederick Charles Alexander, 1757-91, convention thaler of 1766, Schwabach mint, with the ducal title of Prussia and Silesia. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
The line lapsed in 1791 and the provinces fell to Prussia, who in turn yielded them to Bavaria in 1806 as part of Napoleon's mediatization.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 28.06 g, .833 fine silver.
