Kunker sale 293, lot 273
This specimen was lot 273 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €575 (about US$775 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG IN FRANKEN. Christian Friedrich Karl Alexander, 1757-1791. 4 Kreuzer (Batzen) 1760, Schwabach. Slg. Grüber (Auktion Künker 267) 4631. RR Fast vorzüglich. (margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach, Christian Frederick Charles Alexander, 1757-91, four kreuzer (batzen) of 1760, Schwabach mint. Rare, about extremely fine.)"
This is only the second issue of this denomination from this state. The batzen was more frequently seen in Switzerland.
