This specimen was lot 1038 in Sincona sale 50 (Zurich, October 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Brandenburg-Ansbach, Markgrafschaft. Georg Friedrich, der Jüngere, 1692-1703. Taler 1696, Schwabach. Münzmeister Paul Grill. Stempel­schneider P. H. Müller. Geharnischtes und drapiertes Brustbild mit grosser Allongeperücke nach rechts. Rv. Fünffach behelmtes von zwei behelmten Wilden Männern gehaltenes vielfeldiges Wappen. Slg. Wilm. -. Sehr selten. Sehr schön. Exemplar der Slg. Grüber, Auktion Künker 267, Osnabrück 29.9.2015, Nr. 4330. (Germany, margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach, George Frederick the Younger, 1692-1703, thaler of 1696, Schwabach mint. Obverse: draped and armored bust in full wig to right; reverse: two crowned lions support five helmeted quartered arms. Very rare, Very fine.)"
This rare issue was accompanied by an even rarer double thaler (KM-128/Dav-6254). Brandenburg-Ansbach is in central Germany just north of Bavaria.
