This specimen was lot 3256 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $146.88. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA. 1/2 Real, 1819-PTSPJ. NGC MS-64. Lightly toned and lustrous." This is an example of a type struck 1814-25 at Potosi, Bolivia (then called Upper Peru). It superseded the bust of Carlos IV. Assayer PJ is listed for 1803-25.
