Aureo sale 238, lot 461
This specimen was lot 461 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 270 euro (about US$428 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1803. Potosí. PJ. 8 reales. Golpecito. Atractiva. Parte de brillo original. Escasa así. EBC-/EBC. (eight reales of 1803, Potosí mint. Rim nick, attractive, lustrous, scarce thus, extremely fine.)"
The assayer PJ appears for 1803-24.

Recorded mintage: 2,310,000.

Specification: 27.07 grams, .896 fine silver, .780 troy oz ASW.
