Aureo sale 238, lot 456
This specimen was lot 456 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 111 euro (about US$176 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1797. Potosí. PP. 8 reales. Escasa. MBC+. (eight reales of 1797, Potosí mint. Scarce, choice Very fine.)"
The assayer PP appears for 1794-1802.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 27.07 grams, .896 fine silver, .780 troy oz ASW.
