The specimen shown was lot 214 in Sedwick internet sale 2 (Winter Park, FL, June 2012), where it sold for $___. The catalog description noted, "Potosi, Bolivia, pillar 1 real, Charles III, 1769JR (fancy 9). 3.1 grams. Attractively toned and problem-free VF." This type was issued from Potosi 1767-70, whereupon the mint reverted to cob production.
