Aureo sale 238, lot 423
This specimen was lot 423 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 150 euro (about US$238 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1762. Potosí. V. 8 reales. Doble fecha, una parcial. MBC-. (eight reales of 1762, Potosí mint. Double date, one partial, scarce, nearly very fine.)"
The year 1767 marked the initiation of milled coinage at Potosi, the last mint to do so, but cobs continued to be produced until 1773.

Specification: 27.07 grams, .917 fine silver, .798 troy oz ASW.
