This specimen was lot 44022 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $50. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Bern. 5 Rappen, 1826. NGC MS-62. A premium example with surfaces that are essentially as struck and showcase moderate gray tone that envelopes both sides." This one year type is the last of the denomination. The last issue from the canton was a one rappen struck in 1836. Ten rappen made a batzen and forty batzen made a thaler.
