Sincona sale 47, lot 2642
This specimen was lot 2642 in Sincona sale 47 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 70 CHF (about US$84 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND, Bern, Stadt und Kanton, Halbbatzen 1776. Vorzüglich. Leicht berieben. (city and canton of Bern, half batzen of 1776. Extremely fine, Slightly polished.)"
The climbing bear is the badge of Bern, Switzerland. At the time, two kreuzer = half batzen and forty batzen = one thaler. Altho the SCWC lists a half kreuzer, one kreuzer and four kreuzer (batzen), for some reason this type is omitted.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: billon, this specimen 1.64 g.

Catalog reference: D.T. 525n, HMZ 2-224p, KM unlisted.
