This specimen was lot 6079 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $376. The catalog description[1] noted, "BELIZE. 250 Dollars, 1978. NGC PROOF-69 ULTRA CAMEO. Well rendered fearsome Jaguar surrounded by hard mirror fields." This is another Non-Circulating Legal Tender coin issued and marketed by the Franklin mint on behalf of Belize before it withdrew from coinage operations in 1985.

Recorded mintage: 2,00 plus at least 1,712 proofs.

Specification: 8.81 g, .900 fine gold.
