Belgium 1790 florin KM 48
This specimen was lot 4505 in Goldberg sale 69 (Los Angeles, May, 2012), where it sold for $621. The catalog description  noted, "Austrian Netherlands. Florin, 1790. Insurrection coinage. Rampant lion right. Reverse: Arrows in clasped hands. PCGS graded MS-64." This type was struck in 1790 during a brief insurrection against Austrian rule. Another type (KM 49) was also issued in 1790 with a different obverse legend. The insurrection was crushed and a few years later, Belgium was occupied and annexed by revolutionary France. Belgium would not obtain its independence until 1830.
