This specimen was lot 22523 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $132. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bavaria. 1/2 Gulden, 1859. PCGS MS-63+ PL Secure Holder. Crisply detailed with entirely prooflike fields. Seldom seen quality." This half gulden was struck 1848-64 and is popular enough that rare dates receive a premium tho this one is common. It accompanied a gulden (KM 826) and double gulden (KM 828).

Recorded mintage: 404,915.

Specification: 5.3 g, .900 fine silver, .153 troy oz ASW.
