Künker sale 293, lot 142
The first specimen was lot 3612 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $411.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bavaria. Taler, 1627. Maximilian I (1589-1651). NGC Unc Details--Scratches. Some field scratches that are somewhat hidden by the beautiful iridescent toning. Sharply struck and very attractive. From the Rockaway Collection." The second specimen was lot 142 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,887 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, Maximilian I. 1598-1651. Reichstaler 1627, München. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 64. Prachtexemplar mit feiner Patina. Fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, electorate of Bavaria, Maximilian I, 1598-1651, thaler of 1627, Munich mint, NGC MS-64. Proof example with fine patina, about uncirculated.)"
This type is listed for 1627-31 and 1637 along with the similar Dav-6074.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
