Sincona sale 47, lot 2533
This specimen was lot 2533 in Sincona sale 47 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 1,300 CHF (about US$1,560 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND, Basel, Stadt und Kanton Basel, Guldentaler 1583. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich. (city and canton of Basel, gulden thaler of 1583. Very rare in this condition, Extremely fine.)"
This type is called a guldenthaler as it is a little too light to be called a thaler (28-29 g). Later gulden of the seventeenth century were 2/3 thaler; this is somewhere in between. The 60 kreuzer was probably the same coin.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver; this specimen 24.14 g.

Catalog reference: Winterstein 391, HMZ 2-60u.
