Sincona sale 43, lot 4137
This specimen was lot 4137 in Sincona sale 43 (Zurich, October 2017), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,790 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Stadt und Kanton Basel, Vierteldukat o. J. (um 1750). Vorzüglich. (city and canton of Basel, undated quarter ducat from around 1750. Extremely fine.)"
The canton struck undated quarter ducats of several varieties in the third quarter of the eighteenth century. They are rare, like all the gold coinage of this canton.

Specification: 0.875 g, .986 fine gold, this specimen 0.85 g.
