This specimen was lot 31502 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "Basel. City Taler ND (ca. 1670) AU50 NGC, Obv. Superb city view of Basel. Rev. Double-headed basil in circle with arms of Basel on breast. Well struck, with light reverse adjustment marks. Much rarer than one might expect, with only this single example certified by NGC and PCGS combined. From the Redwood Collection, Part II." The SCWC lists this undated type for the eighteenth century but we respect the opinion of SINCONA, who live in Switzerland.
