This specimen was lot 2619 in Goldberg sale 59 (Beverly Hills, June 2010), where it sold for $1,236.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Austria. 2000 Schilling, 1989. Weight 0.9999 ounce. Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Brilliant Uncirculated." This coin is actually a bullion piece marketed to compete with the krugerrand, the Canadian maple leaf, the Chinese panda and the American gold eagle. It is not intended to circulate. It was struck at least thru 2000.

Recorded mintage: 484,000.

Specification: 31.10 g, .999 fine gold, 1.000 troy oz AGW.
