Sincona sale 4, lot 5315
This specimen was lot 5315 in Sincona sale 4 (Zurich, October 2011), where it sold for 260 CHF (about US$346 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ÖSTERREICH Franz Joseph I. 1848-1916 Dukat 1895. Fast FDC. (Austria, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, ducat of 1895. Nice uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1872-1914 and is common. The SCWC notes that more were restruck after World War One, all dated 1915. No mintmark appears on this type. Gold ducats were struck throughout Franz Josef's long reign and come in many types.

Recorded mintage: 330,000.
