This specimen was lot 1710 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €9,000 (about US$12,130 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"KAISERREICH ÖSTERREICH, Franz Josef I. 1848-1916. Taler 1877, Wien. Gedenktaler, geprägt zur Eröffnung des Carl-Ludwig-Hauses auf der Raxalpe. RR Nur 100 Exemplare geprägt. Prachtexemplar. Erstabschlag. Feine Patina, fast Stempelglanz. (Empire of Austria, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, thaler of 1877, Vienna mint. Commemorative issued for the opening of the Charles Louis house on the Rax Alps. Rare, only 100 pieces struck. Proof, first strike, fine patina, about uncirculated.)"
