Sincona ssle 33, lot 3337
This specimen was lot 3337 in Sincona sale 33 (Zurich, October 2016), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$119 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"UNGARN. Franz Joseph I. 1848-1916 Doppelgulden 1859. B Kremnitz. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (kingdom of Hungary, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, double gulden of 1859, Kremnitz mint. Very fine-extremely fine.)"
The SCWC has listed this under Austria. It was struck 1859-65 at Vienna, Kremnitz (shown here) and Venice. This is the most common date. Some authorities list this issue under Hungary but it differs only in mintmark from the Vienna product.

Recorded mintage: 511,000.

Specification: 24.69 g, .900 fine silver, this specimen 24.64 g.
