Sincona sale 43, lot 2791
This specimen was lot 2791 in Sincona sale 43 (Zurich, October 2017), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$418 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Franz Joseph I. 1848-1916 10 Kreuzer 1852 A. Wien. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-FDC. (mpire of Austria, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, ten kreuzer of 1852, Vienna mint. Rare in this condition, Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
This type was struck at Vienna 1852-55 and Kremnitz 1853. The 1852-A shown here is a scarce date. Before 1857, 120 kreuzer made a thaler.
