This specimen was lot 3232 in Stack's-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $305.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Ducat, 1848-A. NGC AU-58. Some minor contact points. Lustrous with very nice details." This type was struck 1837-48 in substantial numbers from Vienna (shown here), Kremnitz, Karlsburg and Venice.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 3.49 g, .983 fine gold, .109 troy oz AGW.
