This specimen was lot 4143 in Sincona sale 39 (Zurich, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835 Kronentaler 1797 E. Karlsburg. Fast sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Francis II, 1792-1835, crown thaler of 1797, Karlsburg mint. About very fine.)"
This type is listed for 1792-97 in the SCWC under the Austrian Netherlands, which we regard as an error, as the type was struck throughout the Austrian empire. Karlsburg was in Hungary.

Recorded mintage: unknown but slightly scarce.

Specification: 29.44 g, .873 fine silver, .826 troy oz ASW; this specimen is 29.42 g.
