Sincona sale 39, lot 4097
This specimen was lot 4097 in Sincona sale 39 (Zurich, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Joseph II. 1765-1790 20 Kreuzer 1781 G. Nagybanya. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Holy Roman Empire, Joseph II, 1765-90, twenty kreuzer of 1781, Nagybanya mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
Twenty kreuzer were minted 1754-97 for Francis I, Maria Theresia, Joseph II, Leopold II and Francis II from all the imperial mints in a bewilderingly array of varieties. This one, struck for Joseph II as sole ruler, is known for 1781-90 from Vienna, Karlsburg, Prague, Nagybanya (shown here) and Hall. This date is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 6.68 g, .583 fine silver, .125 troy oz ASW; this specimen is 6.66 g.
