Sincona sale 34, lot 4355
This specimen was lot 4355 in Sincona sale 34 (Zurich, October 2016), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$475 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Maria Theresia, 1740-1780 Taler 1780. Prag Münzmeister Paul Erdmann von Schwingerschuh und Wardein I. Kendler. Fast FDC. Dieser Taler wurde 1812 geprägt. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, thaler of 1780, Prague mint, mintmaster Paul Erdmann von Schwingerschuh and warden I. Kendler. About uncirculated, struck in 1812.)"
This specimen is very similar to the famous "Maria Theresia thaler" of the Burgau mint, restruck many times; however, this is a product of the Prague mint and is rather scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 28.06 g, .833 fine silver, this specimen 28.01 g.

Catalog reference: Dietiker 1082. Herinek 536. Eypeltauer 199. Dav-1140, KM 816 (listed under Bohemia).
