This specimen was lot 24475 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,468.75. The catalog description noted, "Joseph II gold 2 Ducats 1770 E-HG, Huszar 1830, AU55 NGC. Lustrous and well struck with a few minor marks. A much scarcer type than one might think." Like most double ducats, this type listed for 1768-77, is scarce. Altho Friedberg lists this under Hungary, we have followed the SCWC and filed it under Austria.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
