This specimen was lot 29326 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $1,645. The catalog description[1] noted, "Karl VI Taler 1730 MS64 NGC, Hall mint. Wonderfully preserved, this broad example features the intricately detailed bust of Karl VI and glistens with full mint bloom. The reverse, despite a minor planchet flaw, is absolutely sharp. An altogether solid example of this type from the Hall mint." This type, a product of the Hall mint, was struck 1730-38 and is not rare. Other Austrian thalers for 1730 include Dav-1053 and Dav-1037.
