Austria 1730-Hall thaler Dav-1055
This specimen was lot 29326 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $1,645. The catalog description noted, "Karl VI Taler 1730 MS64 NGC, Hall mint. Wonderfully preserved, this broad example features the intricately detailed bust of Karl VI and glistens with full mint bloom. The reverse, despite a minor planchet flaw, is absolutely sharp. An altogether solid example of this type from the Hall mint." This type, a product of the Hall mint, was struck 1730-38 and is not rare. Other Austrian thalers for 1730 include Dav-1053 and Dav-1037.
