This specimen was lot 1717 in Jean Elsen sale 117 (Brussels, June 2013), where it sold for €190 (about US$300 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SAINT EMPIRE, Léopold Ier (1657-1705), AR Taler, 1695, Vienne. Droit: B. l., drapé et cuirassé à droite. Revers: Aigle impériale éployée. Très Beau. (Austria, Leopold I (1657-1705), silver thaler of 1695, Vienna mint. Obverse: laureate, draped bust to right; reverse: imperial eagle displayed. Very fine.)"
This type was struck at Vienna 1692, 1693 and 1695; similar thalers (Dav-3228, Dav-3229A, Dav-3230) were struck 1681-83, 1696-1700. It is common.
