This specimen was lot 23043 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description[1] noted, "Leopold I the Hogmouth Taler 1693, Hall mint, MS64 NGC, deeply toned with flashes of russet and magenta, a most appealing example of this classic Austrian Taler. Rare in this superior grade." This type was struck 1691-94 and is common. Other thalers for 1693 include Dav-3229, -3237 and -3234.
