Kunker sale 263, lot 1496
This specimen was lot 1496 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabruck, June 2015), where it sold for €1,800 (about US$2,325 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Ferdinand III. 1625-1637-1657. Reichstaler 1657, Wien. Sehr attraktives Exemplar mit herrlicher Patina, vorzüglich +. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, thaler of 1657, Vienna mint. Very attractive with toning, choice extremely fine.)"
This type is listed for 1657 only yet is not rare. Many similar types were minted in the 1650's, such as Dav-3183.
