This specimen was part of lot 32392 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), which sold for $2,280. The catalog description[1] noted, "Elizabeth II 5-Piece Uncertified platinum 'Discover Australia - Flora' 50 Dollars (1/2 oz.) Proof Set 2008, 1) 'Small Leaf Lillypilly' 50 Dollars, KM 1210; 2) 'Black-Anther Flax-Lily' 50 Dollars, KM 1206; 3) 'Red Flowered Kurrajong' 50 Dollars, KM 1209; 4) 'Native Frangipani' 50 Dollars, KM 1207; 5) 'Geraldton Wax' 50 Dollars, KM 1208. Comes with wooden case of issue and COA #32. APW 2.5 oz." Since 1989, Australia has entered the bullion and collectibles market in a big way, having produced commemoratives and NCLT's numbering in the hundreds of types. This series honoring Australian flowers ran in very limited numbers 2006-08. Altho produced at the Perth mint, none bear a "P" mintmark.
