This specimen was part of lot 22226 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), which sold for $528. The catalog description noted, "AUSTRALIA. Three Piece Proof Set, 2006. Discover Australia Series. Fr-B60, B61, & B62; KM-961, 960, & 959. 50 Dollars, 15 Dollars, and 5 Dollars. The coins represent the Australian Fauna. Each coin is one of the first 350 struck. The 50 Dollars has a mintage of only 1,000 pieces. The 15 Dollars has a mintage of only 2,257 pieces. The 5 Dollars has a mintage of only 2,519 pieces. All with hard mirror fields and frosted cameo devices. Brilliant and attractive." Since 1989, Australia has entered the bullion and collectibles market in a big way, having produced commemoratives and NCLT's numbering in the hundreds of types.
