This specimen was lot 22097 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $373.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Elizabeth II Penny 1959, Proof, from the Perth mint, 1,030 mintage. Some spotting, but overall, quite nice." None of the proof pennies of the fifties are common but the 1955 and 1956 proofs from Perth are the key. The Melbourne mint also issued proofs. The dot after the word "PENNY" marks this as a Perth product.
