This specimen was lot 22122 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. Shilling, 1936. ANACS MS-64. A solid high grade example with copious amounts of bright satin luster. A few tiny marks in the obverse field are the only thing preventing gem status. The reverse is simply sensational, with very little room for improvement." The type was issued 1911-36 with Melbourne being the sole producer after 1926. This Melbourne date is the most available but the proofs are rare.

Recorded mintage: 2,000,000 plus proofs, a common date.

Specification: 5.45 g, .925 fine silver, 24 mm diameter.
