This specimen was lot 3871 in Goldberg sale 84 (Los Angeles, January 2015), where it sold for $587.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Australia. Florin, 1932. George V. Key date. ANACS graded VF-35." This type was struck for Australia at Melbourne, London, Heaton and Sydney 1911-36. Production was substantial yet most dates are scarce in nice condition. This is the key date. Australia maintained the sterling silver standard until 1945, years after Great Britain had debased her coins to .500 fine.

Recorded mintage: 188,000.

Specification: 11.31 g, .925 fine silver, .336 troy oz ASW.
