This specimen was lot 2700 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it sold for $111.62. The catalog description[1] noted, "Australia. Sixpence, 1928. George V. NGC graded MS-62. WINGS." This type was struck at the London mint 1911-14 and the Melbourne mint 1916-36 tho not all dates bear mintmarks. This date is scarce but not the key. Australia maintained the sterling silver standard until 1945, years after Great Britain had debased her coins to .500 fine.

Recorded mintage: 2,721,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: 2.82 g, .925 fine silver, 19.5 mm diameter.
