Australia (1943) 3 pence
This specimen was lot 32476 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $288. The catalog description noted, "Internment Camp 3 Pence Token ND (1943) MS64 Red and Brown PCGS. A lustrous example with full copper toning produced for a World War II POW internment camp." This is from a series produced for an internment camps (for German prisoners) which ranged from a penny to five shillings, all in bronze. Varieties exist, including specimens with misplaced or missing holes.
