Sincona sale 54, lot 169
This specimen was lot 169 in Sincona sale 54 (Zurich, May 2019), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,380 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Augsburg, Stadt, Dukat 1737. Mit Titel Karls VI. Vorzüglich. Minimal gewellt. (Germany, city of Augsburg, ducat of 1737, struck in the name of Charles VI. Extremely fine, Minimally wavy flan.)"
The city of Augsburg only issued ducats on special occasions and consequently they are quite scarce. This type is also listed for 1738.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 3.5 g, .986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.48 g.
