Sincona sale 18, lot 1219
This specimen was lot 1219 in Sincona sale 18 (Zurich, May 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Taler 1635. Sehr schön. (City of Augsburg, thaler of 1635, very fine.)"
This type was struck 1628-29 and 1635 in sufficient numbers that the coin is somewhat available today in circulated condition. The bishop of Augsburg also struck thalers but they are rare. The pine cone is the badge of the city of Augsburg.
