This copper two macutas was issued in Brazil for Angola. The specimen was lot 23273 in Heritage sale 3012 (New York, January 2011), where it sold for $2,070. The catalog description[1] noted, "João VI Prince Regent 2 Macutas 1815, struck at the Rio de Janeiro Mint for circulation throughout Portuguese Africa. Very rare type without the shield countermark of 1837. AVF, lacquered with slightly porous surfaces and a few minor rim bumps, struck over an earlier coin." This type is scarce and this specimen sold for about eleven times its catalog value.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
