This copper twenty réis was issued in Brazil for Angola. The specimen was lot 23145 in Heritage sale 3012 (New York, January 2011), where it sold for $1,725. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pedro II of Portugal copper 20 Reis 1694, KM1 for Angola, VF+ details, lacquered, minor surface porosity and a few small flaws but an exceptional example for this colonial coinage. Very scarce date." This type is scarce and the date is rare (other dates include 1693-99).

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 14.6-19.28 g, copper, 36 mm diameter.
