Ensisheim in upper Alsace. The political situation is of 1477, on the collapse of the Burgundians. Upper Alsace would be ruled by the Hapsburgs until 1648 when it passed to France.

This specimen was lot 3173 in Sincona sale 20 (Zurich, October 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Taler 1620. Ensisheim. Sehr schön-gutes sehr schön. (very fine or better)" This type is mentioned by Davenport for 1620 only and as fairly common.
