This specimen was lot 20407 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Aire-sur-la-Lys. Klippe 50 Sols, 1710. Louis XIV (1643-1715). PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder. Uniface diamond Klippe. A siege issue from the War of Spanish Succession, struck bearing the arms of town governor Marechal de Goesbriant. A wholesome, deeply toned example of the type, with details that remain entirely on flan. Elusive in general and extremely difficult to find this pleasing. From the John Whitney Walter Collection. Ex: Coin Galleries Auction, December 2008." This type was accompanied by a 25 sols.
