This specimen was lot 20135 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $2,160. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN. Mohur, AH 1187 Year 2 (1773). Kabul. Taimur Shah (1772-93). NGC MS-65. Intense luster appears in the recesses and the date and regnal year remain entirely on flan. RARE quality for the type and a seldom seen date as well, with no listing for the date/regnal year combination in the Standard Catalog of World Coins." This type was struck AH 1186-1209 at Kabul (shown here), Herat, Kashmir, Multan, Peshawar, Qandahar, Rikab, Bakhar and Dera.
