This specimen was lot 22644 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Wurttemberg. 1/2 Gulden, 1866-CS. NGC MS-66. Attractive Gem quality example with strong silky luster throughout and medium gray to russet toning. Rare in this near-flawless quality and the finest graded at NGC by three points." This type was struck 1865-68 and is fairly common. The denomination was struck in various styles 1838-71. There are no gulden or double gulden for this ruler.

Recorded mintage: 276,000.

Specification: 5.29 g, .900 fine silver.
