Sincona sale 59, lot 2446
This specimen was lot 2446 in Sincona sale 59 (Zurich, October 2019), where it sold for 120 CHF (about US$145 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"OSMANISCHES REICH | Muhammad V., 1327-1336 H./1909-1918 AD, 5 Kurush 1327 H./Jahr 3, Qusuwa (Kosovo). Tughra neben monogrammiertem reshâd über dem Regierungsjahr in zwölfbogiger Einfassung, Münzstättenangabe und Datum des Regierungsanfangs in gleicher Einfassung. Fast FDC. (Turkey, Muhammed V, 1909-18, five kurush of AH 1327, year 3, Kosovo mint. Obverse: Tughra next to monogrammed reshâd over the regnal year on laurel branches and quivers, reverse: mintmark and accession date. About uncirculated.)"
This coin was minted to commemorate the sultan's visit to the town of Kosovo. He made visits to several other towns, including Bursa, Adrianopole, Manastir and Salonika, for which commemoratives were issued.

Recorded mintage: 3,000.
