Áureo y Calicó sale 346, lot 1213
This specimen was lot 1213 in Áureo y Calicó sale 346 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €185 (about US$244 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1723. Felipe V. Segovia. F. 2 reales. Parte de brillo original. Ex Colección Manuela Etcheverría. Bella. EBC. (kingdom of Spain, Philip V, two reales of 1723, Segovia mint. Some mint luster, handsome, extremely fine.)"
The Segovia mint began milling two reales in this style starting in 1717. Numerous varieties exist for 1723, including 1723/1 and 1723/2 overdates. The rosettes bracketing the denomination and mintmark can be six petalled (shown here), four petalled or plain dots.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, this specimen 5,76 g.

Catalog reference: KM 297, AC. 958, Cayón-8749.
