This specimen was lot 216 in Áureo y Calicó sale 347 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €800 (about US$1,056 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1704. Felipe V. Sevilla. P. 2 reales. La S de HISPANIARVM rectificada sobre una S grande. Reverso coincidente. Preciosa pátina irisada. Rarísima. Sólo hemos tenido otro ejemplar. MBC+. (kingdom of Spain, Philip V, two reales of 1704, Seville mint, the S of HISPANIARVM punched over a large S, struck slightly off center. Rainbow toning, very rare, we know of only one other example, choice very fine.)"
This early milled coin is listed for Seville for 1701-05 and 1708. It was struck while Philip V was contending with the archduke Charles for the throne of Spain. Philip eventually won, but had to surrender Spanish possessions in Belgium and Italy.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, this specimen 6,82 g.

Catalog reference: KM 251, AC. 971, Rodríguez Lorente 483, Cayón-8621.
